White Shaker Kitchen with a Waterfall Island
A bright U-shaped kitchen where a full wall of shaker drawers does the storage work and a grey waterfall island takes the seating.
A one-wall kitchen lives or dies on how the uppers are handled. Run solid all the way across and the wall closes in on you. Setting glass fronts at either end of the run, as here, lets the eye through and makes the whole wall feel lighter.
The worktop is a marble-effect quartz, which gives you the veining of marble with far less to worry about day to day. The induction hob sits flush in it, so the surface stays uninterrupted and easy to wipe down.
Under-cabinet lighting runs the full length of the splashback. It puts light exactly where you prep, which is the one place a ceiling fitting always leaves in shadow.
