Handleless Kitchen with a Charcoal Herringbone Wall
A one-wall kitchen that leans on a single dramatic material, with a concrete-topped bar separating cooking from living.
Most family-sized homes have a setup that looks like the letter U. This design makes it very easy for one person to move in the triangle from the refrigerator, to the stove, to the sink, and allows for distinct zones to be established in terms of prep, food storage, cookware storage and dinnerware storage.
Here the run of full-height shaker drawers along the left wall absorbs everything that would otherwise clutter a worktop, which is what lets the rest of the room stay this clean. The island is finished in a grey stone with waterfall ends, giving the eye something to land on in a room that is otherwise entirely white and light oak.
White subway tile behind the range and a farmhouse sink under the window keep the scheme classic rather than clinical.
